One of the fundamental ideas of this collection is looking at the brooches as theatrical objects. I didn’t want them to have a “flat”, 2 D quality because the body surfaces, they are often nestled in are not monotonous either. Objects are all designed to be have changing volumes that play with the curvatures and angles of the body. The flowing lines, draw your eyes to a sense of movement.

This brooch was inspired by the anatomy of the muscles, their arrangement and grouping of fibres. Radiating and weaving together.

It will transform your outfit when worn by itself. It will also work really well as a shawl pin.

The collection Sôma examines this object of adornment - the Brooch. The human body becomes the site of performance for these theatrical objects. Sôma is the ancient greek work for body. The form and the basic structure of the brooches simulate the meshing of muscles and arrangement of skeletal frameworks.
